Colorado University Upward Bound Program part of the Federal TRIO program provides a summer opportunity for Native American students who are from disadvantaged backgrounds. This is a 6 week residential program which enhances and supports students' academic success.
Eligibility requirements
-Enrolled in grade 9-11 and reside in one of the 13 targeted communities and attend one of the targeted high schools.
-A potential first generation college student
-And/or meet federal low income guidelines
If you have any students who might meet the requirements please encourage them to apply.
Students who are accepted are able to return each summer before graduation. Lessons are completed throughout the school year and students received a $20 stipend each month for completed lessons.

Eastern 4H Summer Camp
Old fashioned summer camp with a modern climate controlled cabin twist. This waterfront camp site is great for those memorable summer experiences along with those campfire gatherings. There are different session for all age groups.
Regular Summer Camp sessions are for ages 8-12.
CloverBud Camp is for ages 5-8.
Marine Science and Sailing Camp is for ages 12-17.
Camp CanvasBack is for the young hunters age 12-17.
Camp Cost is $460 per week, with the CloverBud camp at $300 per week.
*This 4H Camp is not limited to 4H members.

NASA
NASA offers a summer program for rising seniors through their LARSS Bridge Program. This opportunity is very competitive, therefore the eligibility requirements are very steep.
Students must be:
- US citizen
-Enrolled in high school as a rising senior
-GPA of 3.5 or higher
-Participated in a NASA related program with at least 40 hrs.

A stipend is received with participation.

UNC Charlotte Camps on Campus
Participants have the option of day camp for those who live near the UNC Charlotte campus; the 2nd option is overnight for those campers who want to stay on campus. The youngest overnighters are usually rising 5th graders. Cost for day camp for the week is $230-250 and the overnight cost is $475. A non-refundable deposit of $50 will hold your child's spot, with the remaining balance due two weeks before camp begins.
Camps on Campus is a great learning experience for students and it gives them an opportunity to prepare for campus life. There is a wide variety of camp choices; use the links below to explore your camp options.

Summer Transportation Institute
Summer Transportation Institute is a program available to rising juniors and seniors with at least a 2.5 GPA. It is designed to create awareness and opportunities regarding careers available in the transportation industry. STI is a non-residential 5-week program at the University of NC at Pembroke, offered through UNCP's Regional Center. This program is funded by the Federal Highway Administration and the NC Department of Transportation.
This program will consist of workshops, presenters, and fieldtrips which will allow students to explore transportation industry careers. A Washington DC trip is scheduled the 5th week and on the last day students will participant in a presentation of their experiences for family and friends. In addition, students will receive a stipend in the amount of $125.00 per week.

A & T Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP)
NC A & T University in Greensboro, NC offers a 4 week residential summer opportunity to high school rising juniors and seniors through their School of Agriculture and Environmental Science Dept. Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA and rank in the 25th percentile of their class. Students will earn a stipend of $1000.00 at the end of the completed program.
